Simulation & Test
With both our Simulation and Test departments closely interlinked, we draw on valuable synergies. The results of the numerical computations are validated in our test and trail laboratories at the appropriate production sites. The direct exchange of information provides for the consistent optimisation of our computation and trial methods.
Simulation
To meet the ever-increasing demands in terms of lead times, development times and quality, we rely on the benefits of the numerical simulation in our component development. We review the demands and requirements involving our components at the earliest possible stage of their development and, based on these reviews, we carry out specific optimisations. This helps to reduce any necessary tool changes and trial loops with cost-intensive prototypes and to minimise development times. To do so, our experienced team of computation engineers performs the following analyses:
- Rheological simulations of the mould fillings and temperature control, and for determining component warpage.
- Static simulations for determining rigidity, strength and thermal stress loads.
- Dynamic simulations to investigate head impact, airbag inflation behaviour, pedestrian protection and ATZ crashes.
- Mechanical flow rate simulations zur Auslegung von Luftkanälen und Ausströmern, Enteisung von Windschutzscheiben und zur Optimierung von Bauteilkonturen bei Um- bzw. Durchströmungfor designing air ducts and air outlets, windscreen de-icing and for optimising the component outlines if exposed to air flow or through-flow.
